[Spotlight!] Convert PDF Files to HTML! Turn Them into EBOOKs! |
Now, let's introduce a project currently under development. The 'Speaking AI Test e-book Builder' converts PDF files into HTML, making it easy to create e-books.
Many contents are created as PDF files using Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Educational content companies often manually rework these files, which is quite inefficient.
Using the EBook Builder, PDF content can be converted into web-based HTML code and edited or added to via the builder.
You can also create eBooks that read aloud by uploading MP3 files, and it will show you where you are currently reading. Implementing AI speaking tests on the web is no problem either. For more information, click to explore the site. (In development) |
[Review] Thinner and More Powerful: iPad Pro 7th Generation with M4 Chip |
The Apple iPad Pro 7th Generation was unveiled on June 19th. This new iPad comes in two models, 13-inch and 11-inch, featuring a tandem OLED Ultra Retina XDR display, which consists of two layers of OLED. It is powered by the Apple Silicon M4 chip with on-device AI capabilities. Additionally, it boasts the enhanced performance and versatility of the new Apple Pencil Pro, significantly improving its overall performance and functionality. |

In March this year, Apple introduced the 3-nanometer-based M3 chip with the MacBook Air, and just two months later, they unveiled the 2nd generation 3-nanometer-based M4 chip. Typically, system semiconductors are prepared for at least 18 months before release, making the arrival of the next-generation product just two months after the M3 quite unusual. The M4 chip's earlier-than-expected debut was driven by strong market demand for generative AI and the declining attention the iPad category has received. Let's take a closer look at the design, appearance, and specific performance levels of the new Apple iPad Pro 7th Generation, which is the thinnest and lightest iPad ever and features the new M4 chip. |
[Data/Analysis] "Good Decisions Determine Success or Failure": 7 Steps to Improve the Analysis Process for Data-Driven Companies |
The core goal of leaders who aspire to transform their companies into data-driven enterprises is to enable business managers to improve decision-making by utilizing data, predictive models, generative AI capabilities, and data visualization. |
Leaders aim to achieve smarter decision-making that yields positive business benefits, faster decision-making to seize opportunities, safer decision-making to minimize risks, and increased adoption of analytical tools across the organization through principles of change management. They also seek scalable solutions that use the latest ML models, AI capabilities, and new data assets to ensure data compliance, protection, and security. Wayne Jackson, CEO of software supply chain management company Sonatype, stated, “To gain a competitive edge, you must out-innovate your competitors, which hinges on swift and effective decision-making. Leaders need to see the big picture and make informed decisions, which requires comprehensive data. However, data alone cannot improve or accelerate processes. You need to extract meaningful insights from that data.” Many companies invest in data architecture, deploy analytical tools, build ML models, and implement data visualization features, yet face slow end-user adoption and disappointing business results. According to the State of Data Science and Machine Learning report, 45% of companies have deployed less than 25% of their ML models to production. Here, we will explore seven steps to bridge the gap between ‘analytical tool deployment’ and ‘end-user adoption for decision-making.’ The first four steps focus on improving the analytical development process for individual teams, departments, and business units. The last three steps address how to scale these improvements across the broader business and the entire organization. |
[AI Regulations] The New Era of AI Regulations: Impact of the EU AI Act on Global Business |
Business Cases Utilizing AI 1. China's Credit Score System In 2013, the government of Rongcheng City in Shandong Province, China, granted residents a base credit score of 1,000 points. This system adjusts scores based on good or bad behavior. For example, spreading harmful information on WeChat, forums, or blogs results in a 50-point deduction, while winning a national-level sports or cultural competition earns 40 points. However, this scoring system has sparked controversy. One resident lost 950 points just three weeks after voicing a medical complaint online. AI-based credit scores have significant impacts. A low credit score can lead to denial of bank loans and credit cards, and those with even lower scores might lose government-provided employment opportunities. 2. Hungarian Government's Centralized AI System The Hungarian government has established a centralized AI system using approximately 35,000 CCTV cameras. This system integrates with a biometric recognition database to help police identify citizens based on CCTV data. While the government claims this measure is to maintain public order, it has faced growing public dissatisfaction. Nonetheless, the Hungarian police have identified 6,000 suspicious cases and conducted 250 inspections using this solution. As concerns about AI grow, the EU has enacted the world's first AI law, the AI Act. This article will explore the AI Act established by the EU. |
[Productivity] "Summarization, Calendar Management, and Video Conferencing": 8 AI Apps to Boost Productivity in Every Corner of Your Work |
These days, it's hard to wake up without encountering an article about generative AI. There are many stories filled with excitement about how this technology will completely revolutionize the way we work. However, most AI tools currently on the market are not all that impressive. They are often cobbled-together products with little concern for quality or reliability. Using these tools can result in dubious answers and the creation of text and images whose quality and originality are questionable. Do we really need such features in our daily lives? |
However, beneath the hype, generative AI systems possess genuinely practical value. By delving a bit deeper into various tools, you can look past the flashy advertisements and discover thoughtfully and meticulously crafted tools that make good use of generative AI. Here, we introduce eight valuable and treasure-like generative AI apps that can help enhance work productivity. |
[Issue] Returning to Europe After 6 Years... A Preview of the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 6 |
Samsung's first AI-powered foldable phone, the 'Galaxy Z6 series,' is making its debut. The Galaxy Z Fold6 boasts the thinnest and lightest design among all previous foldable models. The Galaxy Z Flip6 features an increased battery capacity to extend usage time and improved camera performance for enhanced user convenience. Both devices are equipped with AI functionalities specifically designed for foldable phones as their main feature.
The sixth-generation foldable phones from Samsung, the 'Galaxy Z6 series,' will be unveiled on the 10th of this month at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. This marks the first time in six years that Samsung has launched a new Galaxy product in Europe since the 'Galaxy S9 series' at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung plans to leverage the Paris Olympics, starting on the 26th of this month, to establish itself as the leader in the foldable phone market. |
| [App Market] Targeting Google's App Market: New Law Banning Display of 'Revenue/Download Rankings' |
Continued Concentration on Specific App Markets by Game Companies, etc. - "Restricts Market Competition and Reduces User Benefits"
A new bill has been introduced that bans the display of sales revenue and download rankings for applications (apps) traded on the Google Play Store. The intent behind this legislation is to prevent the concentration of activity on specific app markets and to foster a fair competitive environment in the app market. |

On the 5th, industry sources reported that ten members, including Representative Park Chung-kwon of the People Power Party, who is part of the National Assembly's Science, ICT, Broadcasting, and Communications Committee, introduced a partial amendment to the Telecommunications Business Act on the 4th. Google Play Store currently aggregates and publishes rankings based on sales revenue and download counts. Representative Park believes that these rankings intensify the concentration of activity on the Google app market. This leads to a vicious cycle where game and other development companies only enter app markets with large user bases. Representative Park explained, "This restricts market competition and consequently reduces user benefits, as companies do not engage with other app market operators." He further added, "Some game companies actively develop mobile content that encourages spending to increase their revenue-based rankings. This not only increases the economic burden on users but also creates social problems by hindering a healthy mobile content usage culture." |
